Our Values

  • Our school family is very important to us. We support the whole family to ensure that our pupils can achieve their best. Our culture and ethos is based on the following core values:
    • Christian Values

We are a Church of England Primary School and the Christian Faith underpins our ethos and our mission statement. We seek to promote Christian values and understanding throughout all aspects of school life. Our core values from which all other values grow are Friendship, Faith and Future.

    • Friendship

We believe that by learning, working and playing together we can achieve so much more and make real differences, both big and small. The core elements of Friendship are: Adapting, Empathising, Collaborating, Interacting, Compromising, Negotiating, Communicating, Understanding, Caring and Unity.

    • Faith

We believe that God is at the centre of our lives and is ever present in the created world in which we live. The core elements of Faith are: Awe & Wonder, Belief, Love, Respect, Hope, Compassion, Mission, Tolerance, Reconciliation, Community, Peace, Trust, Vision, Forgiveness, Prayer, Truth and Worship.

    • Future

We believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to develop their God-given potential.

  • Values for Life Programme

Each half term we focus in more detail on one value in particular during our whole school and class-based worship. Although we see these values as Christian values, we strongly feel that they are values all children need to learn about and develop in order to become productive, successful and caring members of society.

  • In addition, each half term we seek to strengthen the home-school partnership by resourcing parents and carers to explore the school’s values with their children. The Home School Values sheets will be made available on our website and are packed full of quizzes, stories, fascinating facts and words of wisdom.
