Welcome to Sycamore Class!
Sycamore Class - Summer Term - 2021
Dear Sycamore Class & Parents
This term's topic is 'Japan'. We will be finding out where Japan is in the world, what it looks like and how people live.
Our class readers this term include: 'Sadako & the Thousand Paper Cranes', 'Hachiko: The Story of a Loyal Dog' and 'The Phone Booth in Mr Horato's Garden'.
We will be looking at a type of poetry called 'haiku', creating a non-chronological report about Japanese dragons, writing a biography about Sadako and reading different Japanese myths and fairytales.
We are looking forward to our trip to the Japanese Garden at Durrance Manor which will give us a window into this fabulous culture.
Have a wonderful term everyone.
