Welcome to Sycamore Year 5 and 6 Class
Spring Term 2025
THIS PAGE IS A WORK IN PROGRESS
Dear Sycamore Class & Parents This term, we are embarking on an exciting journey to explore South America, with a particular focus on the ancient Mayan civilization. Our studies will take a close look at the diverse landscapes and climates of South America, including the Amazon Rainforest. To complement our studies, we will be reading The Explorer by Katherine Rundell. This captivating adventure novel follows four children who, after a plane crash, must survive in the Amazon Rainforest. As they navigate the challenges of the jungle, they discover the wonders of the natural world and the resilience of the human spirit. The story not only aligns with our geographical focus but also emphasizes themes of friendship, courage and exploration. Further details of this term's curriculum can be found below, alongside information regarding the weekly timetable and spellings. Enjoy the spring term and if you have any queries, please just ask.
