Welcome to Sycamore Class!
Sycamore Class - Autumn Term - 2020
Monday 7th December 2020
Dear Sycamore Class & Parents
I hope everyone is well and has had a great weekend.
This week in class, we will be finding out about brave Boudicca and her battle with the invading Romans. We will be writing a diary entry and using colons and semi-colons. In Maths, we will be finding out more about decimals, fractions and decimals.
On Friday 11th December 2020, children may wear a Christmas jumper and bring in a contribution (further details can be found in the weekly school newsletter).
The Weald have produced this superb PowerPoint presentation which discusses the different books that are part of the Book Awards this year. Please have a look - a copy of this is in Google Classroom.
We have now finished reading 'The Boy at the Back of the Class'. Many of the children really enjoyed reading this book and so I have recommended some other books by the same author. They are pictured alongside and are definitely worth a read. We now have several copies of these books in class!
If your child is finding the homework tricky in any way, please let the Sycamore Team know. Homework Club is on a Tuesday and there are spaces available. We'd love to see you!
Please have a look at Google Classroom to see details of the homework tasks set. It will really help all children and parents to become familiar with Google Classroom in case of a possible closure of the class.
Please come to school with a jumper, waterproof coat and wellington boots. You may like to bring a pair of slippers to wear in class.
Have a good week - it's nearly the Winter holidays!
Take care, Ms Stas
