Mrs Penny Midddleton-Burn
Penny is the Local Authority Governor appointed by WSCC. She is Chair of the Governing Body, Safeguarding Governor and the Health & Safety Governor. She is also Chair of the Resources Committee. Mrs Catherine Brooks
Catherine is our Headteacher and is a member of the Governing Body. Mrs Lucy West
Lucy is a Foundation Governor appointed by Chichester Diocese. She is Vice Chair of the Curriculum Committee, incorporating the ethos and worship committee. Mrs Ruth Sheppard
Ruth is a Co-opted Governor and Vice Chair. She is on our Chair of the Curriculum Committee incorporating the Ethos and Worship committee and is a member of Resources Committee, and is also the Governors Training Link Governor Ms Emma Stas
Emma is the Staff Governor, appointed by the staff of Shipley CE Primary School. She is on the Curriculum Committee. Her term of office is four years, ending July 2028 |
Mr Richard Killner
Richard is a Co-Opted Governor, appointed by the Governing Body. He is on the Curriculum incorporating the Ethos and Worship committee and the Resources Committee. Reverend Chris Allen Chris has taken up post as the vicar of the Shipley Parish Church. He became a Foundation Governor Ex-Officio from December 2020. He is on the Curriculum Committee, incorporating the ethos and worship committee. Mrs Gillian Wray Gillian is a Parent Governor and also a member of the Resources Committee. Mrs Jodie Clark Jodie is a Parent Governor and also a member of the Curriculum Committee. Mrs Mawgan Hall Mawgan is a Parent Governor and also a member of the Curriculum Committee. Mrs Jill Phillips (Clerk to the Governors) I have been a Secretary for all of my working life apart from time out to bring up my son. I worked as a Medical Secretary for 28 years and felt it was time for change back in 2021 and joined Shipley School as Secretary and Clerk to the Governors. |

Governors' core purposes
The board of Governors has three core purposes
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff;
- Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.
